L’Orme De Rauzan Gassies, Haut Medoc 2015 Burgundy Rouge More spiced pear and apricot

More spiced pear and apricot than orange

peppery and complete wine

a wonderful array of seamless blackberry

A beautiful confrontation in the attack on the palate between the power and bitterness of the minerals

When comparing this note to a 3-4 year old bottle of Ojai syrah

L’Orme De Rauzan Gassies, Haut Medoc 2015 Burgundy Rouge More spiced pear and apricotK&L Buyer I was impressed with this value gem from Rauzan Gassies. Pure red fruit, a silky texture, and a thread of acidity keep it balanced, and I can help but be struck by how perfectly drinkable and approachable it is at this stage. 2015 has become a bit of a sleeper vintage, and it is wines like this that will have folks looking back for more. Unfortunately, the quality and price here will make it not long for our shelves. 11 2023
