Kentucky BeefsteakTomato, Standard (Slicing) Tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum) MACHAERANTHERA bigelovii (Bigelow's Aster) He simply re-selected German JohnsonThe Kentucky Beefsteak heirloom tomato from eastern Kentucky's hills is expected to be one of our best sellers. It has the kind of flavour that people associate with heirloom tomatoes. It's not overly sweet, not overly acidic, and has a hint of fruitiness to it. The tomatoes have a deep orange colour and are attractive and smooth. Even for an indeterminate tomato, the plants are tall.
